Thanks for your bug report. Unfortunately, because this bug is not
reported against any package, it didn't get any attention during a long
time. Therefore, would it be possible for you to confirm if you can
still reproduce this bug with latest ubuntu version? The latest ubuntu
version is currently ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.
Also please take into account that it is not rare that laptop touchpads
start to present such weird behavior with time, especially when the
touchpad might turn hot, which might affect its sensibility. If the
computer on which you reproduce the bug has a touchpad, it might be
interesting to look if this issue can be reproduced with different
operating systems to confirm if this really his a bug, or a hardware
problem.
