I can also confirm this bug is still present with 2.6.27-7-generic kernel in Ubuntu 8.10 on my Toshiba A100. I did the following steps to test: 1) Go to "System->Preferences->Power Management" and set "Do Nothing" for the "When laptop lid is closed" setting on AC Power and on Battery power. 2)
