works fine here, is the re-create directories option ticked ? it creates
the sdcard/andnav2/traces here and put the gps file there. the same is
zip doing with the -d option.

oh, right. Well, I'd strongly suggest that doing this automatically
instead of throwing an indecipherable error message would be the desired
behaviour. this doesn't seem like a dangerous default. At least, could
it say this folder was intended to be unzipped somehwere else

It doesn't throw any error message here and those tickets are already
marked as true by default when you install Ubuntu.
