Public bug reported:
Installing jaunty alpha 6 alternative, CLI only, the otherwise
uninterrupted installation process waits for user input to confirm
whether a proxy is needed.
expected behaviour: internet connection is tested; failure results in
dialogue to establish proxy/internet settings.
actual behaviour: the large number not behind proxies get asked this
irrelevant question, which interrupts the installation.
