Agreed, doing name ▸ shutdown ▸ shutdown makes zero sense when I have
already saved all my documents and did not hit the power button by
accident. This is approaching windows-like amusement of start ▸
shutdown.

As I see this feature was requested in bug 283095.
So to keep this feature I propose to add an option in gconf-editor.

So the users don't have to search for an option in the editor.
Also because gconf-editor is not shown in the gnome menus.
