The apport hooks for suspend/resume are new for Jaunty which is why you never saw this for Intrepid. As noted in the Debugging wiki, if you suspend your laptop and then the battery runs out. When the machine is next started the suspend image is no longer present and a normal boot will occur. This

Yes I think it is likely that the battery ran out on suspend, but i don't understand why apport tells me that there was a problem?? it did not use to do that in intrepid; this seems like a bug in apport for reporting this to me; thus waisting every ones time with this issue -- [Dell Inc. XPS
