latest patches (2007-03-30).

I did remove all radeon related packages, but it didn't solve the
problem. It even introduced me a new bug (344640). The brightness of the
laptop is very low and it can't be changed. Luckily I have my external
monitor attached as well, so I still can read this ;-)
#apt-get remove --purge rade
Marcel Kolkman - try to completely remove all radeon and radeonhd
drivers(apt-cache search radeon).

Hi,
I just upgraded my laptop (Lenovo T61) to Ubuntu 9.04 and now I'm
experiencing the same problems. After a boot of the system I don't get
the graphical login, it is only showing me a nice color palette (more
like a knitted sweater). Also magic keys like Ctrl-Alt-BackSpace, Ctrl-
Alt-F1, etc bec
You can't install fglrx and then run with radeonhd. They don't work
together, as you've found out. ;-)
