I created a main inclusion report for libepub and it was accepted, so
kdegraphics can now depend on it.
Unfortunately we are now in beta freeze, so I think we are to far in the
release cycle to get chm support in for Karmic. I suggest, that you open
a bug report for Lucid.

Sorry for asking this just now and not earlier, but would it be possible
to add chm support as well? I've patched okular on my system to support
epub and chm. And while epub has problems with some files (just one
empty page, same what humufr sees) but chm support works well. I can
attach my patch.
No, it was a bug in ebook-tools. See bug 435826.
The next upload of kdegraphics should fix this bug and okular will be
compiled with epub support.
I will upload a version to my ppa, so any further testing is appreciated
(needs some time to build).
Thank you in advance,

Hi I installed okular from your ppa. I do have the same behavior than
you some epub ar ok (I am saying ok because for all the file I open the
font was grayish and so difficult to read) but some, especially the one
I create from a pdf with calibre, are not open correctly (only one empty
page). The p
I have a package ready for testing in my ppa:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~neversfelde/+archive/ppa/+packages
It would be great, if you could install okular from there and try to
open and read epub files. The reason is, that I could open some of my
testfiles and some not, I had only some free ebook

karmic. It's not still not included. By the way the okular in pardus
2009 has it so perhaps it's time to think to migrate?

It seems like something like the extra package you suggest would be a
great idea. Right now, it's very confusing to the end-user not to be
able to view particular formats in okular when people on other distros
can do so.
Also, at least for this particular format, it's hard to believe that

N7DR, the bug has been resolved by no longer advertising epub support,
not by including epub support unfortunately. The reason for this is, so
that this package, which is in the main repository, does not depend on a
package in the universe repository (see

I am unclear about the resolution of this.
Has it been resolved:
1) simply by no longer advertising epub support? or
2) actually including epub support?
If the former, I guess I'll file another bug, specifically requesting
epub support, but I don't want to do that if this bug has been resolved
