Since I can't find the pidgin-musictracker plugin in my installation of Pidgin, which I installed from the Software Centre a couple of days ago, I can only assume that it is not shipped with it, and thus any bug reports must be sent to the plugin developers, who can be found on Google Code.

I'm not sure - My report was regarding Ubuntu 9.04, which I've replaced with 10.04 or 10.10 on my computers. For example on this 10.04 LTS system, the current Pidgin is 2.6.6, with the MusicTracker plugin v. 0.4.19 - this seems to work with RhythmBox. Anyhow this report is pretty old now. -- You

This appears to still be the case with vlc in Maverick 10.10. Previously I had reported this not working with Rhythmbox and Pidgin (bug #371516 - see comment no. 2 above) but it does now work with Rhythmbox. Versions: vlc/maverick uptodate 1.1.4-1ubuntu1 rhythmbox/maverick uptodate
