Public bug reported: hello.
i have a logitech trackman marble usb mouse, it has 4 buttons (2 large and 2 small) the large buttons act as left and right click respectively and the 2 smaller buttons act as forward and back (when browsing for example) the mouse doesnt have a scroll function (at least not like it does on windows) but i found this work around - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Logitech_Marblemouse_USB which worked well under intrepid, it enables scrolling when the left smaller button is held down (it also allows a xmod map file to convert the smaller right button into a middle click button) as i said this works well under intrepid. however this morning i upgraded to jaunty (i know its still in alpha) and this work around no longer works, i have done some searching which suggests editing xorg.conf and apparently the adjustments should enable the mouse to work as intended, however all the adjustments actually do for me (and for others as i found out with reading various things) is stop x from starting, and the only way i was able to get back to a working system was to use the auto recovery feature from the grub menu. im reporting this as a bug because i need to use this type of mouse due to having carpel tunnel syndrome, it is a lot better for my wrists and hands as i spend a lot of time on the pc, but not having this small feature working means that if there isnt a way round it i will have to go back to intrepid (some people havent as yet figured out how to get their marbles to work on intrepid and are using hardy) which isnt a problem, but i would like to use the latest version as it has (apparently) better nvidia drivers and various other things. please let me know what sort of logs i need to post if any, the mouse is a logitech trackman marble usb mouse. lsusb lists it as - Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0dda:2026 Integrated Circuit Solution, Inc.
