I think that's fixed it. I've installed the new version in Intrepid (Jaunty's
only a month away - time flies). The scrolling crash is gone, and I've added
several more of the frames and formatting that made it crash before with no
incidents.
I'll follow up if I encounter anything similar, but
Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ? I think the bug you
are seeing with respect to HTML on 2.4.1 has been resolved in 3.0.1.
