Yes, I get the same problem with intrepid. I also have the same issue in opensuse 11.0, and in intrepid by using a freshly compiled 2.6.28 kernel. I suggest you Qsynth as sampler, you need soundfont (.sf2) files to use it. It is not limited to 8mb as your soundcard, the limit is your RAM. Also I suggest ZynAddSubFX as softsynth, it comes with a lot of nice instrument presets. It doesn't need RAM for soundfonts, but CPU power for synth emulat
