Just confirming, I have this bug using a Bamboo Pen Tablet, and disabling the
Xinput option
solves the problem.

Try applying the patch at

to the source code. (It adds a workaround for this annoying bug in ubuntu's
GTK+ and Synaptics device drivers).

I can confirm that I get the same problem (on x86 Jaunty with a
touchpad) when XInput is enabled, disabling it fixes the problem. If the
default is causing people problems, then it should be changes so that
XInput is disabled by default.
