Public bug reported:
Installing the Samsung Linux Universal Printer package using the
install.sh script therein borks HAL.
Jaunty Jackalope Netbook Remix Alpha 6 from USB image file.
The install goes fine, copying the drivers etc. until 'CUPS restart'
at that point the installation freezes and is unresponsive
on forcing a restart with the power button the startup aborts to a
terminal. Logging in and running startx bringsup the desktop with a HAL
failure warning. The touch pad does not work nor the network (wired or
wireless).
Only a reinstall seems to work!
Reproducible (I'm now on my third install).
