As the bug seems to get fixed for you and you cannot provide us with
further information, I'm marking the status of the bug as Invalid.
However if ever you can provide us with information on this bug or if
the bug reappears, you can at any time reopen this bug by setting the
stat
Bug fixed in Lucid. I don't think I've done any customization to make it
work, though I'm not 100% certain. I've not got access to a compal 80
with Karmic at the moment and hence unable to test that combination.

I can confirm this bug is still present in Karmic Koala 9.10 amd64.
I have not used Ubuntu in a while, so I can't recall whether or not it
worked OTB in previous releases.
