Can you please provide the patch against latest version in karmic?
Also note that this is a native package. So the version should not be of the
form ubuntuX.

Simon, are you sure that your patch is correct?
I think it should be sun-java6-plugin, not sun-java6-jre.
sun-java6-jre is just the Java runtime environment, without the browser plug-in.
sun-java6-plugin is the browser plugin, which depends on sun-java6-jre.

Note that currently, the 64-bit Adobe Flash Player 10 for Linux is a
prerelease / alpha version, even though many people report that it works
very well.
(@Mike: You mean nspluginwrapper, not ndiswrapper).
The problem with ubuntu-restricted-extras is that at this moment it
depends on sun-java6-jre
