I have been told that Calendar needs fixing. Version: 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1~intrepid1 is what I have and I have also been told that no such CPU spike occurs in 4.3 (from KDE trunk). BTW, that'd mean new package altogether ;) Also, for same package on Fedora 10(kdeplasma-addons-4.2.2-2.fc10.x86_64),

I've done some investigating. It is *not* the calender that you get from the clock plasmid, rather, it is the actual calender-plasmathing. The precise steps to start the CPU-sucking: 1) Add the calender widget from Add Widgets 2) Move the widget 3) ...? 4) Profit A work-around: Drag the calender

Today I installed PCBSD 7.1 with KDE4.2 and plasma is using 0% of the CPU when idle even with calandar open. The only plasmoid which is not in PCBSD is the network one I will try to install Fedora 11 Beta and see if I find other differences. -- plasma cpu usage 40% and more
