Installing KDE does not imply that one is going to use ooo, installing Kubuntu
(and hence kubuntu-desktop) however is. So KDE musn't, but Kubuntu must.

AFAIR Ubuntu was for human beings, not for geeks grepping through package lists
etc., so it is indeed a bug.
Users do not care why it doesn't work - if it just do doesn't work.

>From a beta Testers point of view this is a bug. If a package is missing
then how is a average user to know. I can't show off a KDE desktop with
the main featured applications not working. Its not a wishlist item.
Its a solid bug that needs to be fixed.
