The .deb fixed it for me, I just wanted to make sure people knew that
the broken packages are still out there.

That is what I am trying to tell you: As of right now, there are still
broken packages on some mirrors (including several German ones I've
tested). This should be resolved soon, just a heads-up for people that
still get this error because of that.

I see that the status is changed to Fix Released but I am not getting
it from the repos.
This is probably due to my ignorance on the meanings of the status
choices, but I would assume that Released means that it is in the

As a work-around, edit line 21 of /var/lib/dpkg/info/ubuntu-
docs.postinst and put the version number at the end in quotes. That is,
change
dpkg --compare-versions $2 lt-nl 9.04.6
to
dpkg --compare-versions $2 lt-nl 9.04.6
After you're done, re-do apt-get install

just download Matthew East's package (the newer version as you could
see) at
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/u/ubuntu-docs/ubuntu-
docs_9.04.7_all.deb
and run it - it'll update your system immediately.
