I can confirm the problem Jake is having, the problem still lies in the
fact that the panel on his right screen isn't detected properly. To fix
this issue I propose the following patch, that determines whether a
panel is a top panel not by looking at it's x and y positions relative
to the entire
i'm still having a twin-view problem using 0.9.11-0ubuntu3.
notify appears on top of the panel, it appears to be following the
location of my left display, even though my panel is on the right. (see
attachment).

We had a couple of updates to address this issue. Can you please report,
if this is still an issue for you? I've a nvidia/twin-view setup here
too and with notify-osd 0.9.11 it works flawlessly for me.

The problem has indeed been fixed for me.
However I still get the following debug message (when running notify-osd in a
terminal):
no panel detetected; using workarea fallback, even though there is a panel
covering the top of my rightmost screen.
But apparently the workarea fallback is doing
The panel-detection code should rather query gconf key of gnome-panel.
That way the detection would be more robust. Having Xlib-code there
isn't so nice.
