Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release (10.04)? Thanks in

I have a similar issue. I've got an Inspiron E1705 with the x1400 card
in it. From what I've seen and read, it appears that ATI thinks they
are going to drop support for these chipsets. Which is insane due to
how common they are. I really think this is an unacceptable thing for
them to do.
