This is a packaging error. I just checked the files that I think should be patched: debian/inkscape.applications debian/mime They do not contain the svgz file type. File: test.svgz Type: compressed SVG image (image/svg+xml-compressed) P.S. I think that the versioning in the deb package is wrong
