Please have a look at bug #328989. This package is not needed anymore as everything is handled in the standard kernel acpi interface when the eeepc_laptop kernel module is loaded. So, please consider removing this package and stop new bug reports for a non installable and non used package. -- [

I can verify the problem exists in Karmic in a clean installation with no optional repositories activated or additional repositories added. The package eeepc-acpi-scripts version 1.0.10 exists in section "Utilities (universe)" and depends on acpi-support-base, which does not exist in the Ubuntu rep

Thank you for taking the time to report this problem and help to improve Ubuntu. This is a bug in the eeepc-acpi-scripts package, which has not been integrated into Ubuntu, not with acpi-support. Reassigning to the correct package. In general, it is incorrect for hotkeys to be handled via acpid;
