Public bug reported:

On my system with a ATI 2600XT running the Ubuntu beta LiveCD 9.04.

- System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers (wait for cards to be
discovered...)
- Select 'ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver', click Activate.

Then a window stating "Downloading and installing the driver" (0%) pops
up, and closes almost immediately, followed by a blank error window
(with only the red traffic sign, without any text, not even a caption).

The only option is to click the button 'Close'. After clicking, the
error window disappears and the Hardware Drivers window becomes active
again. Nothing has happened, no drivers have been installed.
