Hi, I need some more help to reproduce this bug. I am now testing in a up-to-date dapper environment, using en_US locale. So far scim-qtimm doesn't make any difference, nor any input method settings I mentioned above.
However I don't quite understand what does the "open another session" in the bug description mean. The Sessions menu doesn't have anything like "new session". I can choose Session -> New Shell (or use the create tab icon in the left botton corner), which always gives me a new transparent tab; I can also choose Session -> New Linux Console, which always gives me a black, non-transparent tab. If this bug is about the "New Shell" menu, then I can't reproduce this bug yet. My dapper system is an Ubuntu system with KDE, upgraded many times, though. Maybe a fresh Kubuntu install is needed to reproduce.
