I haven't gotten around to it yet. I only have the Ubuntu system in
question as a ghost file right now so it's a little messy. I'll try it
as soon as I get the time though.

@Andre, it may be worth editing /etc/default/acpi-support (using sudo)
and adding in the names of these modules inside the quotes on the
MODULES= line, e.g.:
MODULES=sbp2 ohci1394
..then test suspend-resume and see if this works around the problem.

dmesg output attached as you requested. Thanks for looking into this.
I made an observation -- resuming works perfectly when my external hd
(firewire) is not attached. The only modules are loaded when I attach it
is sbp2 and ohci1394. Is this helpful?

Looks like a faulty driver is breaking the resume. Please can you follow
through the debugging steps as described in:

Please attach the dmesg output once you have rebooted the machine so
