@Andre, it may be worth editing /etc/default/acpi-support (using sudo) and adding in the names of these modules inside the quotes on the MODULES= line, e.g.: MODULES=sbp2 ohci1394 ..then test suspend-resume and see if this works around the problem. Please let me know if this helps. -- [LG

@Colin, dmesg output attached as you requested. Thanks for looking into this. I made an observation -- resuming works perfectly when my external hd (firewire) is not attached. The only modules are loaded when I attach it is sbp2 and ohci1394. Is this helpful? ** Attachment added: dmesg.txt
