Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx

This bug crashes whole system in a way that is needed hard-reset of the
PC.

When playing video using overlay (no matter which player, tested with
kaffeine, mplayer, vlc) is going everything fine until you want to open
another video in the same window (e.g. drag and drop, or jump in
playlist). When there should happen something like reset or re-
initialization of the overlay the screen switches to text mode, show few
colour rectangles and the computer stay completely freezed (no response
to keyborad). In this state has to be used just reset button.

I am using
 - xorg-driver-fglrx 2:8.543-0ubuntu4.1
on
 - 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV730XT [Radeon HD
4670].

amdcccle shows:
- BIOS version: BK-ATI VER011.015.000.008.000000
- GDDR3 memory / 512MB
- 873/750 Mhz
- PCI Express2.0/16x
- driver version 8.54.3, catalyst ver. 2.1

I will try to attach here Xorg.conf and log.

Using radeon or radeonhd on the same device does not cause the same
crash.

** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
