The workaround is simple.
Just add "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" to alsa-base.conf and
restart.

I have the same issue (and same steps solved it, thanks Youssuff) on
Asus 2930.
Please solve this issue, it's really annoying to search the web for
hours to find a workaround.
