I am encountering the same bug.
In:
Preferences-Privacy-Settings...
I have everything checked (to include Cookies) to be cleared when I quit
firefox.
HOWEVER in the Preferences-Privacy panel under cookies settings area,
the Keep until: setting was they expire
It looks like that is
I suppose it would be helpful to note I am using the most recent version
of ubuntu and my firefox version is 3.5.5 that comes from the ubuntu
repos.
