I just got this error today, with 32-bit firefox on 64-bit Ubuntu.
Synaptic reports version of ia32-libs as being 2.7ubuntu26.

This isnt a regression. gtk is not smart enough to lookup modules in the
right locations unfortunately (needs a patch)

Reopening since this seemed to introduce following regression:

Preview available in my PPA as ia32-libs-2.7ubuntu5~fta1.
The changelog looks like:
* add an exception after the automatic .so symlink generation fixing the
libstdc++.so symlink which should point to libstdc++.so.6 instead of
libstdc++.so.5 (LP: #360870)
* Freshen packages (as of
i tested the packages and application wise this seems good. tested java
32-bit, skype, firefox 32 bit and flash ... all work flawless.
So please address comments i had on bug 360870 and upload. Subscribing
motu-release to both bugs to get an ack now.
