When I start bluefish from command line I see no errors. My system is in
Italian language ($LANG = it_IT.UTF-8) and kernel is x86_64 bit.

Can you provide a short example? For me it opens with the values given
in the width and height HTML attributes.

Immagine10x10.png is just 10x10 pixels.
If I right click on the tag, and select modify the tag, the properties window
is opened with the width end height set to 10.

I cannot reproduce it. It opens with the value 5 for both width and
height in the dialog.
When you start bluefish from the command line: Do you get a warning or a
note from Gtk? Which architecture and which locale?
