Apparently, it's related to the theme engine I was using. The "separator" (don't know if I can call it that, now) is not visible when using Taqua, New Wave, Murrina, Mist, Loma, Inverted, Human, Glossy, Dust, DarkRoom, or Clearlooks, nor their derivatives. It's visible in most all of the others.

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to. I just thought it seemed odd that there was a separator there when there's nothing to separate, so I thought it was a bug (i.e.: something was missing, or it shouldn't be there).
