There's a workaround to this problem, and you're halfway there by using the fusion-icon app, but it needs to be launched each time you log in. Go to system -> Preferences -> Startup Applications / Sessions Click add name: fusion-icon command: fusion-icon Then click add again and restart X. The

This is the output of "compiz -c" from the terminal: a...@gort:~$ compiz -c Checking for Xgl: not present. xset q doesn't reveal the location of the log file. Using fallback /var/log/Xorg.0.log Blacklisted PCIID '8086:2a02' found aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity and this is my xorg.
