yes, i think so... I'm using a compal as well (jhl90). Furthermore I
installed the 2.6.29 kernel and this seems to have solved the issue for
now.

not only /home partition gets corrupted, but even root. Keeping installing over
and over is quite annoying; I'd try installing kernel 2.6.29 and give it a try.
If the problem persists I'll downgrade to intrepid.
