Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gconf-editor

I have removed some packages due to using alternatives, and fully purged
all files.. but gconf seems to continue to show empty keys for them.

For example, I removed rhythmbox with apt-get --purge remove and deleted
all files from my $HOME and "locate" shows this..

$ locate rhythmbox
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/rhythmbox.desktop
/usr/share/app-install/icons/rhythmbox.png
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_AU/LC_MESSAGES/rhythmbox.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_CA/LC_MESSAGES/rhythmbox.mo
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/rhythmbox.mo
/var/cache/apt/archives/rhythmbox_0.12.0-0ubuntu4_i386.deb

So, there's really no config files at all.. but the rhythmbox directory
tree remains in gconf-editor. I cannot explain it.

I am just using Rhythmbox for this example. Other apps are doing this
too.
