If you're referring to actual gconf keys that you have modified still
appearing in gconf-editor, then those are user data that the package
manager can't remove. However, your output of locate rhythmbox has
absolutely nothing to do with gconf keys at all. If you're referring to

It's the fact they're actually still *in* gconf and empty that bugs me.
I could've swore --purge removed the gconf keys which deleted those
entries.
