I'm marking this bug as fix released , because :
- In Karmic the user name does not have to be entered but rather the user has
to be selected.
- And there is a button Labeled "Login"

This issue has security ramifications as well, it leads to passwords
being logged (which is pretty bad IMO).
If you mis type your username or password, your are prompted to login
again, starting with username. In many cases the user will just type the
password again and hit enter, assuming he is r
new gdm of karmic affected by this bug yet?

I also agree...
We don't gain a thing from the simplified login screen, however, I really like
it.
But please, don't let the newbies get frustrated before their very first
login...
Also, a face browser would be a very nice welcome, BUT with large avatars.

I teach 4 to 6 year old children and have 26 ltsp thin clients using
Edubuntu (Gutsy).
It is a NIGHTMARE having to type in 26 Usernames followed by 26 passwords 5
times a day.
Sure the usernames are b1 to b26 and I have set all passwords to 1.
