I think I may have this problem on 10.04LTS as well. To be honest, I
don't know what 'custom application launchers are', but my gnome panel
does freeze every time I start up. The main symptom I see is that the
clock stops at whatever the time was when I logged in, but also, the
network activity
Since this report have a long time without activity, please could you
check (if is possible) in latest version included in Karmic if this
issue is still happening? Thanks in advance.

Also happened to me. I enabled assistive technologies some time ago,
because I wanted a magnifier (is there a standalone magnifier in
Gnome?). Switching them off also solved the problem (I had to relogin,
but maybe I was not lucky enough).

A few minutes ago, while I had "Enable assistive technologies" enabled,
and all my Custom App Launchers began freezing gnome-panel again. I
went to the Accessibility dialog and disabled "Enable assistive
technologies", and closed the dialog. The freezing did not stop. I
re-enabled it, and the f

assistive technologies" and closed the dialog. Afterwards, my
gnome-panel did seem to stop freezing.
I then went and re-checked the "Enable assistive technologies"
checkbox, and gnome-panel continued to work properly, and I have
thank you for your bug report, do you have the issue when not using the
accessiblity option?
