Same problem as described above. It's actually quite a significant
problem. In fact, the notification icon's position should be easily
customisable. Right now even if it were showing up completely on the
screen I wouldn't be satisfied with its position.

I am having the same problem on 9.10 netbook remix. See attached

whatsoever. Already without this bug screen space is limited with a
vertical 600 pixels.

Just want to confirm this:
Running 9.10(rc) 64bits, single screen(1920x1200) with
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.42, and the OSD is often placed wrong(somewhere in the
middle of the screen on right side).

Have the same problem after upgrading to 9.10 RC.
Display resolution is 1280*1024, Nvidia card (8600GT, new 185 driver),
Compiz enabled.

Setup:
- Laptop Toshiba Satellite M100-222.
- Ubuntu 9.10 with latest updates.
- Laptop display is turned off.
- Attached monitor 1280x1024.
Notifications appear too far down the screen - as if it's below a non-
existent notification. Volume change appear

Notification also misplaced for Hamster time tracker.
I suspect that this occurs with all notifications not triggered by a user.

I have a similar problem:
Song change notifications from Rhythmbox, and new mail from Evolution, appear
too far down the screen - as if it's below a non-existent notification.
Volume change appears in the expected position, directly below the
panel.

I don't want to criticise your decision Pedro, but the new OSD is one of
the most-touted new features of Ubuntu 9.04. If it doesn't work properly
on a fairly standard computer setup and this is considered not
important, it's somehow ironic, don't you think :) ?
