Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cupsys
After a recent upgrade to cups 1.3.9-17ubuntu2, printing stopped working with my Brother DCP 7025 on USB. It was working fine until a few days ago, that is well after I upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty (AMD64). After I installed some upgrades, I noticed that printing does not work anymore, and when I tried to re-install my printer driver, Cups did not recognize the printer. Other people seem to have the same problem on the forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1132882 I have checked other bug reports on Launchpad, including #348316 which fixed a similar problem with a new release of hal-cups (0.6.19+git20090217-0ubuntu6). I have 0.6.19+git20090217-0ubuntu7 installed on my system, so it looks like this fix had some side-effects!
