I do not have anything besides Karmic installed. However, I just tried xubuntu 8.04 from a live cd and left click worked fine. So it appears to be, at least partially, software dependent (at least to my naive eyes). -- Laptop left click not working in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371563

Does it work in Windows, or even another Linux flavour? At the end of the day, electronics break. I think I may have read about this being a known problem, but even if it's a 1 in 10,000 thing, then it looks like we are those guys. On Mon, 2009-10-26 at 10:31 +, kallek wrote: > Thanks. Disabli

Thanks. Disabling the touchpad in the BIOS has solved my problem. In Karmic, it is no longer possible to disable the touchpad in system>prefrences>mouse>touchpad. It seems a bit weird that the touchpad should be worn out already. The computer is only 1 1/2 years old. Is mouse failure to be expec

I know it's difficult to use the menus without left-click, but you can do it with a combination of tab, alt
