Both gmcs and gmcs2 are available on the system and the error remains. This is really nasty because the only way I can use mono for web in the moment is to run xsp2 directly and not via apache and I think this is not a good idea if I would like to use the software for a productive system. -- sta

I'm having a different problem but wondering if they are related. I got a "Standard output has not been redirected or process has not been started" using the test.aspx example in the mod_mono ubuntu howto. After a bit of searching, I found this... try sudo find /usr/bin | grep gmcs
