I have the same problem and can also connect with PPPoeconf. I don't
understand how this was solved except that it has to do with
"interfaces". This is what I have in "interfaces":
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto dsl-provider
iface dsl-provider inet ppp
pre-up /sbin/ifconfig eth0 up # line m

#iface eth0 inet manual
and solve this problem

do you have something in /etc/network/interfaces? If so, remove it.
Running pppoeconf is one of the things that could create bad stuff in
that file. So dont use that if you want to sue network manager.
NetworkManaager can manage pppoe on its own nowadays.

i'm sure that ethernet card works very well because i can connect to
internet using adsl by pppoeconf.
