Binary package hint: pidgin
When using a Direct IM connection on the AIM protocol, I can reliably
insert images using the Conversation -> Insert Image... menu option and
people on the other end tell me that the image appears in the chat
window.
When I drag an image from my desktop to the IM window and select the
Insert Image option, people on the other end tell me without exception
that it appears as blank.
(I hope they are not winding me up.)
