As Far as I know then bios was not upgraded. I have here Phoenix v1.8
(25/6/2007). Should I give it a try? :-/ (in intrepid and hardy it worked
correctly)

I'd wait for a reply from a kernel hacker about this before trying to
upgrade the BIOS.
ok, I was googling and found newer bios (1.90), but I don't like
updating bios... I hope it won't be necessary.
