This problem should be reported to FireFTP developer, as it is a Firefox
extension and was never part of the Ubuntu distribution.
However, I tried to reproduce this bug with FireFTP and I couldn't,
maybe the problem is elsewhere

I've tried ftp, lftp and nautilus and wasn't able to reproduce this bug.
