I believe that hardware-accelerated video rendering was only fully completed for Linux in Flash Player version 11. I think it's not a nvida-related problem. I have a ATI Radeon HD4650 and the issue is the same: youtube video are stuttering even in small size with compiz enabled, with a lot use of cpu, while without compiz they run smoothly even in fullscreen. My system: Debian Squeeze, 1 GB RAM, Pentium 4 2.6

I have the same problem with Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 32-bit, Nvidia latest proprietary driver with an Geforce 8500 GT graphic card. Flash videos run all slow when fullscreened. I disabled compiz seemed to solve the issue, but of course lost all the eye candy effects. There must be some other solution.
