Robert are you sure you pushed your changes? the ubuntu-desktop version
still has the library not renamed for the soname change, both version
can't be installed together but the binary name needs to match the
soname so make sure we rebuild everything correctly

why did you rename the common and dev files there is no need for those changes?
the .install also need to be renamed
also could you use the ubuntu-desktop bzr since you started work there, it's
confusing to have to check different locations

This package can't be versioned since libgdl-1-0 depends on an exact
version of libgdl-1-common - you can't have both libgdl-1-0 and
libgdl-1-2 installed at the same time.
This requires all the dependencies of libgdl being rebuilt. These are OK:
- anjuta
- gnome-build
These do not work:
- gtransla
OK, I've made that change on my branch:
lp:~robert-ancell/gdl/ubuntu
I assume that common has to also be versioned to have both installable?
It wasn't previously.

thanks robert, the library binary package name need to be changed to
reflect the soname change though, the goal is to have both version
installable at the same time for an easy transition, you want to rename
libgdl-1-0 libgdl-1-2 and the same for the dbg variant
