After looking into

and renaming my old and creating a new profile, when trying to use a web
page using swf I get this message from my terminal screen:

Macromedia Flash plugin is the other flash plugin I have installed. I
will have a more detailed look later regarding the new profile. In the
meantime I have switched off the installed add-ons.

Could you please post a URL that is not working?
Many bad Firefox behaviors are in fact caused by one of the many third-party
'themes', 'extensions' and 'plugins'. These will go away with a new profile -
that is, when Firefox is restored to default settings and without any
extensions and themes
