The sound problem isnt anything to do with pulseaudio I think. More than
likely its a problem with sending the message to the audio control to
raise or lower the sound.

I can confirm that my touchpad has the same regression. (I was just about to
file a bug myself.)
I haven't tested the sound problem because the only thing I use sound for is
through wine with pulseaudio disabled, and that has enough problems of its own.
